I've seen many comments on other VSX reviews asking for a mix comparison between VSX and studio monitors. In addition to showcasing the new features in the VSX 5.0 update, I challenged myself to mix the same song twice using both headphones and my studio monitor chain. VSX ($399) – I used Yellow Matter Studios, with a custom E.C.C.O profile plugged into my laptop. Monitor chain ($21,000) – PSI A23m + Trinnov Nova + Lynx Hilo + Acoustic Treatment After session prep, I took 45 minutes to set the balance, panning, EQ, compression and reverbs on the tracks. I then waited a day for my ears to reset and mixed again on the Monitors. I know this test isn't scientific or foolproof, but it proved to me that I could trust VSX to get a similar balance to my loudspeakers when I don't have access to them. I didn't listen to the mixes until I filmed this video. 0:00 – How I did the mixes
