Marc Martel’s Favourite Vocal Mic – The @LautenAudio Eden LT 386
When it came time to record vocals for the new cover of Bohemian Rhapsody, Marc Martel turned to a mic he knows and loves: the Lauten Audio Eden LT 386. Known for his uncanny ability to channel the spirit of Freddie Mercury, Marc needed a microphone that could capture not just range and detail, but the emotional intensity of his performance. The Eden delivered.
“This microphone is everything I look for in a vocal mic,” Marc says. The LT 386, nicknamed the Eden, features three distinct voicing modes — F, N, and G. The F setting (for “Forward”) is Marc’s favourite for rock and roll, offering a bright, smooth, and crisp top end that helps vocals cut through dense arrangements. The N setting provides a more neutral large diaphragm condenser tone, while G gives a darker, warmer character.
“The G setting is really interesting to me,” he notes. “I just want to keep talking because I love hearing myself on this microphone.”
Built with boutique grade workmanship and tone shaping flexibility, the Eden has become an essential part of Marc’s vocal chain, and a key element in faithfully reimagining Queen’s iconic masterpiece. Source https://www.youtube.com/shorts/-RmC_WPWh4M
